She actually gave the task a tad more “oomph” than George Costanza did in the infamous “Breakfast At Tiffany’s” Seinfeld episode, where he barges into a complete stranger’s house to" help" him watch the movie version of the Capote novel on a rented VHS tape so he can report to the book club and pretend that he actually read the book. Gee, things must’ve been different in ’01!!

An atlas on audio cassette!
Only marginally more useful than Burl’s audio cassette collection of classic silent films….
Might beat listening to mimes on the radio, though…. maybe.
Always cracked me up that my mom loved some famous radio ventriloquists, too.
She just knew Edgar Bergen’s lips never moved.

To all those who loved Edgar Bergen and Charlie McCarthy… yes! So do I.Bergen was very funny and clever.
It’s just also funny that it was presented as ventriloquism, when you couldn’t see it.
It would make sense if he had a live audience during the broadcast… but I don’t think he did. Not sure.
I’m not even sure whether the dummy was there… I mean Charlie… hate to call him a dummy…but he may have been.
I know Candice Bergen, as a child, thought he was around a bit too much.
