Maybe I’m saying the obvious, but It’s that Deanne (in a youthful manner) is romantically interested in Mike and he doesn’t understand it, not at all.

If so, Deanna certainly carries a grudge.

Looks that way. She got her revenge by marrying him.

My dad used to say “Women! You can’t live with them and you can’t live with them.”

This strip can be reprinted years later because people don’t change.

It is very interesting reading these “reruns” of this strip. I’ve read “For Better Or For Worse” since day 1 and am now going through their lives again. As another poster said, these two will one day get married and have two children.

Just wondering why so many posters here feel the need to spoil the future for those who have not already read the entire series.

The answer obvious. Mike is a male and therefore clueless. Deanna is female and doesn’t realize that Mike is clueless.

This is why I hated elementary-school Deanna…I’m sorry but I’m glad she’s leaving soon (Spoiler)

He is not totally ignorant. He simply isn’t a mind-reader.

I think that women and men and boys and girls are all afflicted with the lifelong and historical condition of being human,folks. We’ve been on this planet for thousands of years,and we’re still trying to figure things out.

Gee and here I was led by other commenters to believe that the only gender ever made to look bad in this comic was the males — John, Phil, Michael, etc. Seems Lynn was an equal opportunity realist.
