We had a fire drill buzzer next to our homeroom and that was the worst ever.

I agree with Hag5000.

In elementary school, it was more like a medium-pitched horn sound, not a buzzer. There were bells, alarm-like bells, outside.

In junior high (“middle school” sounds pukey), it was all bells.

But the fire drill buzzer made you jump out of your skin.

Still have one in the hospital-sounds like an old time submarine dive alarm. It goes off and then there is what seems like a 10 second pause before they announce where the “Code Blue” is. I think the delay is to make sure people are paying attention.

For the last several years I was Fire Marshall for my area at work. There were never enough drills to stop the adrenalin from maxing out when that bell went off!
