First-rate vibrations at your party, Joanie... Joanie: Why, thank you, Duane. It's very sweet of you to say so. Duane: You know, this may sound off the wall, but the karma of this party tells me you're a Pisces! Joanie: Give me a break, will you, Duane? Duane: Seriously, I think I know where you're coming from, and I'd like to share that space. Joanie: What do you have in mind, Ace? Duane: Got a hot tub? Joanie: No, but you can soak your head in our sink if you want.

God he’s a piece of work. The sad part is, many a luscious lady will fall for it. Our Joanie is way too smart for this guy. Not so luscious, though…

Joanie – ever the polite hostess. Even when putting Mr Mellow in his place.

“Go soak your head.” Boy, does that take me back. That was one of my mother’s suggested “dismissal” lines when I was a kid. Haven’t heard it in decades.

Didn’t get a chance to look at yesterday’s strip until now, but I’ve been expecting it all week. My all time favorite, often quoted.

By the time that strip was written that sort of approach was “so 60’s”. Not only is the strip stuck in a time warp, so are those two particular (ly short-lived) characters.
