Cathy Classics by Cathy Guisewite for April 01, 2010
Transcript:
Saleswoman: Floral blouses! Floral skirts! Floral hats! Floral tanks! Floral pants! Floral shoes! Cathy: No, thanks! I have all kinds of floral clothes from last spring that I hardly ever touched. Saleswoman: Exactly! Those have to be dug out, cut back and replaced with happy new spring flowers! We're not dressing. We're re-planting the closet.

As I read these, amongst my other comics du jour, I am constantly glad that my parents gave me the correct set of chromosomes. Irving must fully dread any shopping trip wifey takes. Sigh.

A chunky-trunks like her shouldn’t wear floral prints.

speaking of Irving– what’s he doing during this decade-long adventure of cathy and the lady with the pencil in her hair? I suppose he’s doing GUY things , like watching sports on tv, or playing poker with his worthless pals or playing video games if he was a REAL husband , he would be with her , helping her and supporting her with those important decisions about her wardrobe..

In all fairness, I’m sure Cathy doesn’t love shopping with Irvin for new tech gadgets!

Cathy should’ve told the clerk, “My florals are perennials, they don’t need replaced.”

I don’t think we’ve ever found out where Irving works. We haven’t seen Cathy at work for weeks and weeks either. I hope they’ve simply won the lottery, so we can stop worrying about how they have time or money to shop.
