Ah, Melvin! The living exemplar of “the triumph of Hope over Experience!”

I like Melvin’s state of delusion. He just can’t help it.

He is persistent if nothing else. Speaking of which, this week’s Raven Haired Rogue is having a close vote. I am surprised more people haven’t gone the “blackmail” route.

@johnzakourThe two characters that you wrote seem to thrive on attention, I voted to find the missing person as a feint to draw out the answer instead of blackmailing them.

Won’t every one be surprised when Melvin not only fails to become a pile of ash but makes the dancer more flexible.

Melvin is the epitome of humor in this comic!!!! He is a great foil for all the author’s ideas. Wonderful!

@johnzakourIf deprived of attention then they maybe willing to negotiate with Zach then Zach could play hard ball in the negotiations.

Looking back, I find that I used to draw Melvin more high-waisted, with his belt up under his chest. His belly has truly taken over.

Like I said before the “real life” Melvin did quite well, marrying a banker. There is a lot to be said for not letting our limitations get in our way. That’s a big reason for Rta’s success.

I like the understated wit of Jay’s reply.

And the expression on Jay’s face. It has a trace of confidence that I don’t think it would have had pre-Andromeda.

Yes, I know. He’s one of my favorites, and I saw him in concert many times in his later years. I get frustrated because a certain Jonathan Stuart Leibowitz changed his name to ‘Jon Stewart’ and now almost completely overshadows Stewart the singer. So people spelling the name wrong doesn’t make it better!!

GOLD wasn’t really a duet with Nicks. She sang backup, and was credited as such. But her name and fame have overblown her contribution. The record was produced by LIndsey Buckingham, and it was released, in fact, in the late 70’s- on RSO Records, which was long since defunct by the 90’s/.

Can we start up a collection so we can buy Melvin a clue?

The State of Denial has a road map? I didn’t even know it had roads. Dirt paths and over grown brambles yes, but roads?
