That is why they have selective hearing aids; they can select the degree of hearing intensity. Hers was turned up so she could keep track of you while soaking in the bath.

My ex has acute hearing and I have to remember to watch my tongue at times. Just because she’s 20 feet away does not mean she can’t hear me. Darned Vulcan ears!
