Science vs. Public Opinion. Exhibit A. Cardinal: Are you crazy? Polls show 79% of people say it's flat! Men: Next he'll be telling us humans affect the climate!
Math vs myth. The ovoid was known long before Columbus sailed, which from high points looking out over the ocean, the curve was seen for a long, long time.
“The art of NOT reading is a very important one. It consists in not taking an interest in whatever may be engaging the attention of the general public at any particular time. When some political or ecclesiastical pamphlet, or novel, or poem is making a great commotion, you should remember that he who writes for fools always finds a large public. A precondition for reading good books is not reading bad ones: for life is short.” – Schopenhauer. In the age of the Internet, it is often hard to separate good from bad. So much truthless truth lurks there.
@emptc12Would love to see your extended stanzas! And a great quote, also. As for knowledge of the “roundiness” (to swipe from Colbert) of the Earth, the ancient Greeks knew it back in the days of BC (and I don’t mean the comic strip).
Yes, Human’s certainly do Affect The Climate. They Affect it to Raise Money, Gain Votes, and Steer Public Opinion in favor of decisions that financially support their supporters . . . The Chinese.
“Climate change is cyclical.”In this, you are correct. But, pup, do you really think that the daily tonnage of fossil-fuel gasses from our aircraft, automobiles, homes, incinerators and factories, from all over this earth, is having no effect on our atmosphere?
You’re post is partisan opinion with nothing to back it up. You apparently didn’t read or understand the NASA article you linked to. It didn’t say the oceans aren’t warming. It said the deepest parts aren’t warming. There is a difference, not that you care.
The 97% is a myth! More recent evidence gathered by James Lawrence Powell — who provides all his data — looked at 2,258 PEER-REVIEWED articles written by 9.136 climate scientists in the year from November 12, 2012-December 31, 2013.Exactly ONE (1) scientist rejected man-made global warming. (It was written by a Russian scientist, and of course Russia is in the fossil fuel “business.”)So “97% of climate scientist agree” is a myth! The accurate number is more like 99.989%.Rounded down.http://www.desmogblog.com/2014/01/08/why-climate-deniers-have-no-scientific-credibility-only-1-9136-study-authors-rejects-global-warming

“But you go and follow the Sci Fi horror Flick by Al Gory and be a true Believer in Gorbull Warming. I will stand here and be the Heretic. "
So your definition of “Heretic” is “uneducated buffoon.” Interesting.

I loved this comment:
“Climate change is cyclical. Volcanic eruptions and Chinese fossil fueled factories are the cause, not humans or cattle.”
In the same sentence: “Chinese fossil fueled factories are the cause, not humans.”
Apparently, the Chinese are not human. :-|
