I too had one in the ’70’s, but had to shave it off for competition.

Dean’s next question will be ‘Where is Vietnam and did you win?’

Had a ’tash since, uhhhh, 1981 or thereabouts. Added a goatee maybe five years later. Had to shave the goatee off for seven years due to a job safety requirement – it was brown before I shaved it off, it grew back silver/white just that short time later.Oh well….

Two tours? I was there for one tour as a company clerk in ‘68-’69. The guys I knew who came back for a second tour did it for the $$$$$$$$$.

My husband wears a mustache. He grew it in 1991 right after a bad motorcycle accident left him with a bad scar on his upper lip. The ’stash hides it well. Besides I like it on him.

Started a beard on New Years Eve 1971. Told a young lady I wanted to take her on a date and I would not shave until she said yes. I still have the beard. :)

I had a mustache for about 30 years. Then it started going grey a little at a time, including one thick clump of grey just under one nostril. From any distance it looked like my nose was running, so I finally shaved it off.

A long pointless war for capitalism. Thanks Nixon.
