Reality strikes – real hard

I have a Toby mug. (Not the same, but still holds a good amount of coffee or grog, depending on the weather and my mood.)

Looks like you sang a familiar tune there, dad.

I was not encouraged to think about a job; but then I was not encouraged to do anything but be quiet.

Must be shocking to a teenager to find out he’s not that much different from his dad.

Think he’s stunned now? Wait until he asks Dad why he never went for the dream job.

“But…. but… ever since I was little, everyone’s been asking me ‘what do you want to be when you grow up?’ — I thought I got to choose!”

What, Toby dreamed of being the next Casey Kasem?

I didn’t dream of working with computers at a University, but it certainly became my dream job.

I worked on the Apollo ground tracking network for three years, Apollo 7-12. That was a cool job!

As a high school surfer kid my thoughts about my future:“What !?! . . . ME work?"

I wanted to be a vet, and as it turned out I had such severe allergies, I couldn’t do that. So, I ended up going into accountancy in the end. :(
