Dad. What do you want for Christmas?
World peace.
Dad.
I just want you to be happy.
Seriously, Dad.
I already have the things I want.
Dad! Anything!
But I don't want anything.

I never want to see world peace. All the people working toward it are settled on a global domination solution that included dealing with “problems” in an expedient manner.
Most children just don’t get it…..once you become a parent your needs and wants become secondary to theirs. So you teach yourself to stop wanting anything, and that attitude stays with you the rest of your life.
