As a Chef I own a nice set of very high quality knives and even with the sharpest ones it still was a task that was not easy to do quickly.It may have taken a bit longer had the animal been alive and struggling.I have experience cutting up carcasses of different animals and dressing them, even with that it can still be a struggle to dismember them.

Jim’s case of course is extreme. Some will go catatonic, and others will hide in the corners of their asylum cells. Others may simply refuse to see themselves as what they’ve become, or see others as what they’ve become, and safely live their lives.The protagonist in “Martians Go Home!” by Fredric Brown had a mild form of schism syndrome where he convinced himself the very real Martians pestering everyone on Earth didn’t exist and stopped seeing them. Jim, on the other hand, has convinced himself that HE doesn’t exist as he does and must be something else. Might as well be God.
Staying with my theory that this is more than an insane raccoon-kin. The eyes are gone, but maybe not glowing. There seems to be no pain reaction to severed parts…or when whatever is in control turned Jim’ s head 180 degrees. And Jim seems to have “morphed” into something looking far uglier than a rabid raccoon.
If I were Holly I would have taken the opportunity to tie that rope around the back of his head. It would certainly keep him from closing his mouth..at least for a while.
So she DID gnaw off his digits. Good for her. Shoulda gnawed his feet off while she was at it, though.

Jim in his condition will not even notice his pain….he is beyond pain…..he is beyond this reality.Jim will capture Holly but he will not kill her immediately. Jim was going to kill Chic as Chic is a child….not much to terrorize there….not enough life experience. Holly on the other hand…..he can take his time enjoying the terror he is going to put her through. Jim wants to share his pain and hurt.Killing Holly quickly would end her life so no pain or suffering. Jim will kill but only when he is ready to.
this just gets more bizarre and harder to follow.It would help Holly Wally and Chic if he did inhale all the gas.My sense of Arron Marx was basically moral, but Jim is totally out of touch with anything like morals. About now we should be hearing from Wally and what’s up with him. And the gas. Maybe they can’t get it to work right.
@ Night-Gaunt49Just for the irony, my wife is an animal control officer, one of the things she learned about most of the popular tranc drugs is that adrenalin will counter their effect (at least short term). It’s one reason why they are not a goto solution for vicious dogs when time is short. A good sharp stick could do wonders right now, hard to chase someone with a sharp object sticking in your throat.
Is there a safe place to get to the end town forum or the end town underground?I have a Norton system that told me the zetaboards isn’t good. Warned me do go there-malicious stuff there.
