A_Dream4U, my thoughts will be with you today.Gweedo, I don’t know if he is divorced or widowed. From what Paul says, he has an adult son who visits sporadically and a “girlfriend” who visits on weekends.Shikamoo, where south? Innisfil, Alliston, Beeton, Tottenham, Bradford, Orangeville, Newmarket, Toronto?Ruth, Queen, hope you are both OK.
Went over to my daughter’s yesterday as grandson his lady and great-granddaughter were there for a visit. I hadn’t seen Saphira in several months and we figured she would not come anywhere near us. We were so surprised when she looked over, gave a big grin and ran over to us with arms out to be picked up! A good time was had by all. I took several pictures and may post one of her as my avatar for a few days.
The last thing you need is a beer Chesney! -—————————- At the very top of this page is a banner for Tiny Confessions – a new comic about what dogs and cats are thinking. Might be a good one for us animal lovers to try.
Well I definitely (I think) remember seeing Chessie sleeping in the Pullman bed with 3 little kittens looking exactly like her. They were not on the deck of cards though. I kept scrapbooks with pictures of things I liked which were kitties, horses, dogs, etc. I remember a picture of Peakie which referred to him as “Chessie’s old man”. I thought that meant he was the father of the kitties. I was very young then.
Many years ago, I had an old deck of those cards… (might still, packed away someplace, but I think it got “borrowed.”)
It had no markings, so I didn’t know, till a friend who had retired from the Southern Pacific told me he’d seen lots of them, cos they were handed out for free to passengers who wanted to play cards.
The crew would pick up the decks left behind, so all the rail guys ended up playing their poker games with Chessie.
Here in Denver, we have a Cat cafe. You can have your coffee and pet kitties, also play with them. They are all from a shelter, and if you fall in love with one and qualify, you can adopt it.
