Well, yeah. Anytime you go peering into someone’s house you gotta expect them to close the drapes, blinds or whatever. Now, this wasn’t Crustwood and they weren’t the Pennys there might be other reasons, like (hopefully) some Viagra-fuelled Afternoon Delight, for one.
The Poor Tomkin’s. They moved to Crustwood hoping for a nice peaceful community. They weren’t aware the Penny’s lived 2 doors down. Real Estate Agents are supposed to disclose any adverse conditions with the property they are selling, but tell people about the Penny’s and nothing would ever sell.
The Penny’s are lucky – in some areas stopping and trying to be peeping toms can be extremely hazardous (if not fatal) to your health. Or, the residents might be day-sleepers.
I know how to fix these people you crack the curtains just enough to tempt them and spend your day inside in the buff. I read where it worked back east . The nosy neighbor even tried to have law enforcement charge him for not having the windows closed. Turns out nosy had to walk on the lawn and trespass to peek in the window and law enforcement pointed out to her the laws she was breaking
How dare they not allow nosy people to peep in! For shame!
Reminds me of when we first moved into our condo and I hadn’t put the curtains up yet (I would do it later that night) but some yahoo stood outside our window staring in. Hubby kept giving him the stink eye but the guy wouldn’t budge until hubby stood up and walked over to the window. People are strange.
The Penny’s curtains are always open in the day, and they are more than pleased to show off what a good life they live to the neighbors. They have delights all day long, Ho hos, Twinkies, Ding Dongs, Zingers, Sno Balls, orange cupcakes, if Hostess doesn’t make it Little Debbie does.
……maybe one (soon to be two, then four, then eight, then sixteen, you get the drift!!) person behind those curtains…..drank a “really wrong” beer, and is slowly morphing into……….that thing in Stephen King’s boffo short story “Gray Matter”………..he (it, they…) crave darkness, helps ’em with the nuclear splitting
I used to live in a house where the kitchen window faced the common lane. I always waved to people as they came and went and they returned the greeting. After we moved the neighbors wrote to tell me that the new owners always kept the curtains closed and never waved. Everyone felt a little sad.

I’m just disappointed they don’t have a motion activated lawn sprinkler system.

The Pennys just want to see if anyone has better clown art on their walls.

Yeah, it’s the Pennys we have to hide from. Try closing the curtains on the government.
