Phoebe and Her Unicorn by Dana Simpson for December 17, 2014
Transcript:
Marigold: You SHOULD probably do your book report. Phoebe: I know... But I already told my mom I DID already, so now if they see me doing it, they'll know I LIED. So I guess I'm gonna have to go on lying, forever. Here. I brought your favorite artisanal oats, to bribe you to keep quiet. Marigold: This is a new side of you.

So why can’t she write the report on her tablet computer while she rides her unicorn. It’s not like she needs her hands to steer.

So why doesn’t she do like most other students and copy and paste her report from Wikipedia at the last minute?

Phoebe, your humanity is showing!

This can’t end well for Phoebe, unless she breaks down and confesses everything. I can’t really see her parents getting that upset with her if she tells them the truth. Of course, Millie’s mom was known to spank her, so maybe at the worse Phoebe will have a hard time sitting while she finally does her homework.

or hide out, do the report, admit you lied and see your parents cool reaction. unless this draws you closer to Dakota or Max or some dishonest magical creature. Or maybe gets you an encounter with Santa in person?

Marigold needs to step up and suggest that she and Phoebe cannot truly be friends without complete honesty and trust.

Since it’s a book report, assuming that she’s actually read the book, our Phoebe’s best plan is probably just to “do it over” out of disgust with the “original version”.

I’m surprised that none of you has suggested the obvious: “My Unicorn ate it.”
