???Confusing. To me it looks like the implication is that Caterpillar and John Deere are out of business..Maybe only the logos have changed..Standard Oil may have broken up to Exxon/Mobil and Chevron?

Depending on the season, mine say “Eagles” or “Phillies”. They’ve been out of business for a while, too.

Wonderful and true! ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++But, have you noticed the male Pluggers lately have been more clean shaven? That is a shame, as I have enjoyed Mr. Brookin’s drawings of bushy moustaches and what-not on the fellows. I tend to think Pluggers have a higher tendency to shun shaving as a superfluous activity anyhow (I know I do).

I wear caps. But they are from companies I worked for until they went out of business.

I worked in the penitentiary for years…found a cap in a store that had the Monopoly cop saying “Go to Jail”….loved it….although the inmates weren’t too happy….like I cared!!!

“Briggs and Stratton”.Still in business and actually own several other related companies in the power equipment industry. Unfortunately, most of their small engines are now manufactured overseas; i.e., China..Now, Techumseh small engines are gone from the scene…

There’s at least one Standard station still in business, using the Chevron (originally Standard Oil of California) logo; it’s in Las Vegas, on the south side of Tropicana Blvd just west of Dean Martin Drive (which is just west of I-15). You can see the sign if you use Google Maps Street View (the station appears as Chevron on the map itself).
