Google as a verb—does the trademark stand? On the site for Santa Clara University I found this reference to a court case that holds up the trademark status:.First, even if consumers use a trademark as a verb, the trademark is still protectable if consumers associate the noun with one offering. In this case, even if consumers use “to Google” to describe online keyword searching, Google still can have a trademark if consumers associate the noun with just one search engine. -
We had encyclopedia’s to look up things. It was a pain. The internet is a wonderful thing now that you can ask “natural language” questions. Remember when you used to have to ask very short questions in boolean?
And here I thought Mosaic was a really nice browser. I remember when being “on the Internet” wasn’t considered synonymous with being on the Web because there was no Web before Tim Berners-Lee came up with HTTP. I’ve been using e-mail since the last ’70s.

That’ll be like asking someone what life was like before books and you look it up in a book.
