Helium has a lot of industrial uses, and they are growing, yet supplies are shrinking. Helium is not extracted from the air, which would be very expensive, but from Natural Gas production, and not all natural gas is high in Helium. Texas Natural Gas was very high in it, but as natural gas production moves elsewhere, less Natural Gas is produced. Therefore the price has been rising quickly, and is expected to continue to do so.
