Like Calvin, I get my second wind just before bedtime. That’s why I’m up posting comments on Gocomics.

Mornings are overrated and late nights are underrated.

I used to be like this. Now I wake up at 5.30 AM if I want to or not. Usually, not.

Most parents find that little kids are larks – wanting to be up and about horribly early. Calvin has hit teenage too soon.

I have read that a theory has been offered, probably by some anthropologist, that mankind evolved such that as we go through life we tend to operate on different sleep/wake schedules to ensure that there is always someone awake to effectively serve as lookouts and alarms for the rest of the tribe.

He fights when he gets out of bed. He fights when he goes to bed. Calvin must love confrontation.

Morning is my favorite time of day. My wife is still in bed, I have fresh coffee and get to read GoComics. And the tv is off.

After a night where the neighbors played their @!##%$ stereo until 1 am in the morning, I know how he feels. Another neighbor kept banging on the wall to shut them up too, to no avail…

Calvin seems to have no problem waking up and bounding downstairs at 6 a.m. on Saturday mornings.

I have no trouble sleeping anytime or anywhere and I don’t need the comfort of a cushy bed to fall asleep; however, if I get more than 5-6 hours of sleep at any one time, it can take more than large quantities of coffee to “wake me up”…

Calvin and his pet tiger Hobbes are getting ready for bed. They have to get up early because Uncle Max is coming to visit.

Supposedly, If your circadian rhythm is on the long side, you’re more likely to be a night owl. If it runs short, you’re probably an early riser. There are pros and cons to both.Almost everyone in my family was a night owl (except one sister.)

Night owls are forced by our mindlessly conformist society to exist in a constant state of jet lag… which all the sciences agree is not a healthy state for our bodies.
