Transcript:
Calvin: "On gray days, when it's snowing or raining, I think you should be able to call up a judge and take an oath that you'll just read a good book all day, and he'd allow you to stay home" Hobbes: "So you'd only go to school on sunny days?" Calvin: "Well no, on sunny days the judge would let you play outside" Hobbes: "He's quite a guy" Calvin: "He'd make you go to school if it was hot, hazy and humid with a lot of bugs"

On sunny days staying outside is best.My parents had a garden, I took my books outside and learned in the garden, under the cherry tree. It was wanderful in spring, when the tree had thousands of blossoms!

Hey, Calvin? Are you sure there’s even school today with all that snow coming down? Or a two-hour delay?

@leftwingpatriot, I remember English class in Los Angeles when it was 108 and we were in a Quonset hut. I felt bad for our teacher… we were only in there for an hour.

Come to think of it, I occasionally feel “hot, hazy, and humid”!.When I ask my wife if she thinks I’m hot, she throws water on me leaving me humid and in a haze…

Include jobs/work and I would vote for that Judge! Sunny days need to be enjoyed.

I was the same as Calvin. I didn’t feel like going to school on rainy or snowy days. Those types of weather should be used for sitting at home in your pyjamas, sipping a warm drink and reading or watching TV.xxx

I love the way the drawing of the snow flakes is handled. The art of this strip is always a joy.

I went to school with no air conditioning, and about a year or two later, my high school installed it.

Sometimes Calvin is the judge, other times he’s the stink bug.

The schools I went to didn’t have any AC either. We had to deal with the heat.
