These days, more and more clothes are advertised as ā€˜wrinkle freeā€™, with reduced or no need to iron as long as you pull them out of the dryer as soon as the cycle is done. One day, kids will ask ā€™whatā€™s ironing?ā€™

I can accomplish a lot of things on my ā€œTO DOā€ list when Iā€™m putting off one task that I dislike.

Ironing? So 20th century. I havenā€™t ironed anything in the last decade.

Iron? Whatā€™s that? Actually we donā€™t have any clothes that really require it. But I will admit to actually ironing sheets. There is nothing as luxurious as slipping into a bed made up with ironed sheets. It would be even more luxurious if someone else ironed them, but needs must.

I wear clothes that donā€™t actually require ironing (t-shirts and jeans). But unless you hang the shirts, which I donā€™t, they need to be ironed after getting them off a stack. Besides, I donā€™t like looking like I slept in my clothes.

Ellie you need to get organized. Set aside a day for certain chores. Monday is laundry and ironing. Tuesday is shopping. Wednesday is book review. There problem solved. I will send you my bill.

I dislike ironingā€¦ however will do it when need to which means the night before husband has big meeting the next day ā€“ I am ironing his shirt. Other than that I do not iron! But I do love doing laundry (weird huh).

Every week I iron my husbands button up work shirts. He doesnā€™t have to wear a tie anymore but itā€™s still no polo shirts, button up only. They donā€™t look too bad straight out of the dryer but ironing them just makes them a little crisper, get that nice crease down the sleeve.

I love to iron. It makes my clothes feel and look like new. Iā€™ll trade your ironing for my dirty dishes. I donā€™t like to wash dishes and will put that off as long as I can.

Neither have I. Just hang up any clothes that are a little wrinkled and they will look great by morning. Of course I live in a humid climate ha!

I procrastinate the same way, but honestly, I donā€™t get the whole ironing problem. I have one pair of summer pants that need to be ironed and two blouses. The rest is clothes that you hang up to dry and thatā€™s that. My husband irons his shirts himself. And the rest of the laundry (sheets, shirts) just donā€™t deserve to be ironed.

As I saw elsewhere today on GoComics ā€¦

All this stuff sounds like it could go on a to-donā€™t list.

I make sure I buy clothes that donā€™t need to be ironed. If wrinkles happen, like from packing them in a suitcaseā€¦..they have wrinkle remover spray that works really well now a days.

All of our clothes are of the wrinkle-free variety, but that didnā€™t do much good when I was using the ā€œfluff & foldā€ laundry services in the UK. They would put the clothes into a centrifuge to spin out more water than the washer could handle, and then dry on high heat. I had to iron everything! I once tried to do the laundry myself (it was located in a laundromat, and one could choose whether to do-it-yourself or use the fluff & fold service) and I had to fight with the attendant over the temperature on the dryer. He kept turning it up to high and I kept turning it back down to ā€œpermanent pressā€. He told me I was wasting time and money by using the lower temperature. I told him it was MY time and money and leave the dryer alone.
