I run into kids in schools that talk about being up until 2:30 the night before….I’d be exhausted….

Good training – a lot of adult ‘work’ is pointless too.

The phrase “When did you get in bed?” is an artificial construction, revealing the forced nature of the joke. The normal construction would be: “When did you get to bed?”

mwbarr: Then the correct response should be, “It’s getting away from the bed that is the problem.” That sounds like the bed is stalking and attacking. I’d leave well enough alone.

Our elementary school has a rule that students cannot be given more than an hour’s worth of homework per night. Some students take a bit longer, others take a bit less, and of course there are a few students who don’t even attempt to either do homework or try to get the assignments done accurately. (I’ll admit that some families and their habits aren’t conducive to encouraging their children to do their homework.)

Math homework used to make me cry, because I didn’t know how to do it…And I knew I had to do it. My parents didn’t know how to do it…It was 8th grade algebra for Christ’s sake…who knows how to do that? Very few people reading this could even construct a logical algebraic formula….

And 2 plus x doesn’t count, don’t try. I’m talking about things that can’t be done with this keyboard…10x squared – (+3), divided by 1/27 plus the the square root of 3 over the same formula minus 12….
