How do people know what angels look like?

Actually, in the myriad sightings they look like ordinary people except for remarkable abilities and the trackless comings and goings.

Without being so obviously hostile, I can agree that trying to read as literal, a document that has been translated, transcribed, modified, codified for 2,000 years by fallible humans, is dicey at best. Using the first golden rule as a guideline is much simpler. And the angels don’t hurt their toes, dancing on needle points. :-))

It’s possible to critique a depiction of mythology without believing in the myth.For example, the depiction of Athena on “Hercules: The Legendary Journeys” was inaccurate, portraying her exclusively as a deity of scholars and omitting her role as goddess of war (presumably to avoid overlap with Ares, one of the villains of the show).That doesn’t mean that I believe that Athena actually exists.
