    @Llewellenbruce—-If I read the last panel correctly, he WAS still in the tub when she turned the water on. He would be hard to miss though unless the curtain was closed, & she just reached around it to turn on the water without looking in.

    It could go either way. But I think he was not in the tub. Sounds like he was up and had a good chance to tell her. It’s the bedding that is wet.

    Unless it is a huge tub, I would expect him to have some serious cricks in his back, neck, and/or knees..I do think he got out of the tub early in the morning and just left the bedding in there, or he would be all wet, too.

    I always go to bed past midnight. The latest I’ve ever went to bed is 4am, I’m still well rested when I wake up.

    After reading comments, I have to agree—Earl got out but left the pillow & blanket in the tub, which is why he appears to be dry. If he was still in the tub when the water was turned on, he probably would have yelled loudly.
