Short is neither inherently good nor bad, and it’s not something you can change much anyway. But what the heck is wrong with SILLY? Yeah, there are times when silliness is inappropriate, but more often than not it’s a good thing!
@Yukoner, to read the comments at other cartoons (I’m thinking particularly of For Better or for Worse), liking the characters in the cartoon is not required for people to want to read it! But it’s true, now that I think of it, Broomie has never received the vitriol that sometimes appears for FBoFW.
I guess it’s because she absolutely does not live in anything like the world as we know it. So we can just… enjoy the fun!
Reminds me of a story Burt Reynolds told about
when he and Clint Eastwood were young, struggling actors
on the Warner Brothers lot…
They went to the office of some WB exec for an interview.
The exec said to Burt “You can’t act” and to Clint he
said you;ll never get a job because your adams apples
too big…..On the way out of the office Burt told Clint..
“I can learn to act, but, there’s not a d@mn thing you
can do about your adams apple…
