Under that blank mask is Tracy’s old enemy - Pocket Pool!
Notice how Locher avoided drawing those mutant stubby fingers that are a key part of his art. Maybe everyone in this strip should have their hands in their pockets.
That’s NOTHING YONSON (1955) in the avatar to the left. Part of the name for the new foe who dresses with Hat and cheesecloth facemask like the BLANK (aka Faceless Redrum)
Nothing Yonson a night club resturant owner appeared in a 1955/56 tale that included Oodles, Joe Period, and Flattop Jr.. It was also the introductory case for Lizz Worthington who’s sister Julie Marlin had been killed by Joe Period.
Thought HATS in Dick Tracy’s world (by Locher) was a “no go” (?)
The crew’s names (all puns) of “Lime Light”, “Star Bright” and “Sam Script” all sound like buddies and stable mates of Rudolph the Red nosede Reindeer,
Lime Light, Star Bright
One is in their loafers lite
Anja Nu, is not a pretty view
Now I think I’m going to spew
Sam Script that little twit
This play won’t be a hit
Johnny Nothing is his name
Blankly staring is his game
Noah Nothing it should have been
That it’s not is such a sin.
This was a post from the other day on another strip, but I think it is apt.
To the tune of “Three Little Maids from school are we”
From the Mikado
So many little immature adults are we
Poor excuses for adults as can be
Living our life in the gutter with churlish glee
Little immature adults to an old fool
Dirty words are a source of fun
As for respect we do have none
Nothing is sacred, we’ll kick your bum
Little immature adults to an old fool.
A faceless character goes right along with all of the other time saving methods now incorporated into the Tracy strip. Featureless backgrounds, inconsistent drawing (except when they’re doing cut & paste), poor script coherence, constant story rerunning, childish dialog, etc, etc. The creative thinking is focused on how they can do this strip in less time. I think we’ll see more of this as Locher runs his final miles to retirement.
I’m still waiting to find out the results of trigger-happy Tracy’s gunplay a few days ago…..someone throws a rock and hair-trigger Dick starts blazing away and as of yet NO ONE, not the cops not the neighbors, NO ONE has said a word ?????
Man, the continuity in this strip leaves a LOT to be desired.
UPDATE: OOPS - my bad….Tracy didn’t shoot, but still, whipping out a pistol does underscore the old adage, ‘Never bring rocks to a gunfight’

So Flight Suit thinks this guy’s a flasher,if so, then “Johnny Nothing” may be appropriate name in more ways than one

Lime Light bears more than a passing resemblance to Bart Simpson in Panel 2.

I was NOT referring to the names of the characters.
I was referring to the childish remarks of some of those who post comments here.
They treat GoComics like it is only a website for those who read magazines found in so-called “Adult” bookstores. ————————————————————–
So you’re saying he’s not a flasher?
