Pay EXTRA to place your content, and you get bandwidth and speed. Every time we see deregulation of PUBLIC resources, like the airwaves, there’s a sleazeball ready to make extra profit off that PUBLIC resource. Kinda’ like those oil companies NOT paying royalties on government (public) oi in the Gulf of Mexico.

Under communism, the state owns business.
Under capitalism, business owns the state.
See how much better “our” system is?

Gees, if the government recorded every click of 350 million persons, I wouldn,t like to be in the shoes of the guy who has to go through that. And why don’t they use that to catch paedophiles?
So, before you givein to paranoia, use your brain!
Q1; what manpower does it take to do that stuff
Q2; does the government have that manpower?

^ A1: Not manpower, computing power. A2: Distribute/delegate resource (i.e. archive space) by mandating ISPs maintain records for a determined length of time. The onus & cost is on the ISPs.
One of governments’ (and I have heard the strongest pressure has been from the UK & the US governments) arguments in favour of keeping such records has been that it would help tackle paedophilia and other crimes.
Privacy laws have prevented this. For now.

Why follow in China’s footsteps on anything? They harm even their own people, for goodness sake!
