Um… what’s a library, Sergio? /wink, wink, nudge, nudge/

Kids actually still do study at the library. Freaky, I know.

But is it safe to walk/bike there without a parent present? Case in point – the woman who was questioned when someone found her two under-ten-year-old children were playing at a local park GASP!!!!!! unaccompanied by an adult, one block from her house (read this on a newsfeed, still trying to find the source as I type this).

My local library was 12 miles away and required crossing 3 busy streets if we rode bikes: to us kids, going to the library was a weekly treat since mom loved to read and needed a new book after two days.

Guess I was lucky. My library was 6 or 7 blocks away. It was my second most favorite place to go. The first was the second hand book store.

the library at school was heaven and sanctuary. long may the library reign!
