Ball: I feel so dirty (a baseball is saying this) Coach: Okay, infielders, take your positions! Coach: Time to practice some situational baseball! Coach: I'll call out each situation before putting the ball in play. Coach: i might say something like : Runner on first, two out! Coach: Then, if the ball comes your way, you need to know what to do! Got it? Kid: Got it! Kid 2: Yup! Coach: Okay, then! bases loaded, one out! (coach hits the ball to the ground where it gets stuck in the mud on the field.) SPLUT !!! Coach: Spring training during mud season is not without it's challenges. Francis: Is that a bunt?

Apparently, there was a minor league game where a ball was hit into the mud in front of home plate and it could not be found by the fielders, allowing the runner to circle the bases.

Coach John was the P.S. 38 gym teacher back in the day. He retired, but the school keeps bringing him back as a sub. He enjoys showing everyone the scars from all his knee surgeries. He is also not good with names (he calls Nate porcupine). He first appeared in July 5, 2001.
Coach Calhoun is the current gym teacher at P.S. 38. Whenever Coach Calhoun is not teaching Coach John takes over, much to the kids dismay. He is commonly called Coach and is a Coach for P.S. 38’s basketball and soccer teams. He also is a little league baseball Coach. He is often much nicer and was only mean to Nate once, in a sunday comic. Coach John may be his friend, but they have differences and Coach Calhoun usually gives kids a chance.
