Oh boy! The large version of the Science Museum is back. Anja Nu’s gaining weight and her fingers have grown! Johnny Nothing’s head is collapsing! Who says nothing happens in this strip!

Things change on a daily basis! Such exciting developments! My heart can’t take much more excitment…

I think those two in the third panel are related or are in a plot together to kill Tracy.

That looks like Batman’s cape in front of Dick. I wish.

I agree, margueritem. Maybe this is the reason I have trouble sleeping at night.

How much longer is Tracy going to be reading the script? He surely should have it memorized by now!

When does the crowd arrive for the show? I bet they are having a problem finding the Science Museum! One day it’s small and the next day it’s large. If they are going to the small version, they’d have to scale the 40 foot wall to get to the stairs!

Dynamite? The science museum already blows itself up repeatedly with its weird morphing.

I’m gonna pitch a strip to TMS to replace Dick Tracy. It’s called “Police Hootrs!” The tagline: “Double Bubble Trouble!”

Even when the heroines are standing around, just talking, it’ll be more visually interesting than this dog of a comic.

This could be an opportunity to reuse the FLOOOOOMM! sound effect. Eventually….

FLOOOOOMM! What a great idea. I can see Tracy grabbing the dynamite and rushing to throw it in the pool.

That’s it then. Sometime in July– no, August – we will get to see the return of the FLOOOOOOMM!

Monday gone, Locher finally lifted that “Bench Warrant” he had imposed on Sam Catchem … It was a severe punishement - 507 days unseen in the strip (and for no good reason).

I have to ‘suspect’ that it has someting to do with ’NEW’ Junior, who some years ago he morphed into looking like his deceased SON John. It’s a sensative issue but new Junior last ‘actively’ appeared in a Kilian story in 2004, Since then he hasn’t ‘participated’,(someone may have complained – several readers thought it an overdone ‘personal’ intrusion into Chester Gould’s strip).

But since Locher picked up the writing in early 2006 Junior hasn’t participated, but then Patton was ‘retired’ (and aside from one story where new Chief Lizz was kidnapped) Locher has frozen out every other HQ character from story ‘activity’ for four and a half years. There is no more Major Crime Squad or the well liked team camaraderie at HQ between stories. Tracy has become a ‘stay at home’ Al Capp style – “Lonesome Polecat” with Tess.

Of course, Locher still crafts opportunities to ‘sneak’ in Junior as we just saw, and at Christmas (like he was living with Dick and Tess at home) while Bonnie and ‘Cool Dude’ , who should, - were nowhere in sight. http://www.gocomics.com/dicktracy/2008/12/25/

Well, of course we can’t have just one. Last time Tracy threw 3 violins into 3 different pools, and there were 3 FLOOOOOMMs (spelled only two different ways, though). That’s another slogan for the Orwellian list:

Repetition is Variety Delay is Suspense Talk is Action Boredom is Excitement

If Tracy’s what he was once cracked up to be, by NOW … after meeting Johnny ‘NOTHING’ he’d connect the dots and realize that the Author of the note on the rock and the lawn sign, was standing right there before him.

But about next week after - BLAM ! BLANK ! BLAM ! Who do you think will - RUN ! RUN ! … hearing a PUN ? And it won’t be with_ DYNAMITE,_ it’ll be with ALL his MIGHT ! (And all after it’s all way too late to ‘connect’ the ‘dots’ …

Call it a Locher ’VARIATION’ of the CHASE “sequence”, you know how Dicky likes to “CHANGE UP” things ! ;-)

I notice that the man eating plant from “The Little Shop of Horrors” is still in front of the museum. I hope it doesn’t eat the police force when Liz marches them to the show!
