Phoebe and Her Unicorn by Dana Simpson for February 22, 2015
Transcript:
Phoebe: What's older? Unicorns, or stars? Marigold: Stars. In ancient times, unicorns were very jealous of the stars, with all their shining and twinkling. Ans no unicorn was more jealous than King Sprinkle the Thunderous. Eventually, he could stand it no longer, and ordered his subjects to charge at the stars, horns first! Phoebe: What happened? Marigold: This.History would come to know it as the Great Anticlimactic Hop. Phoebe: History would be my favorite subject if unicorns wrote the textbooks!

Interesting how Marigold’s eyes turned into the night sky when she spoke of stars (or reflected it like mirrors.)

Not all stars are older than unicorns, many stars are quite young as the are still being formed within gaseous nebula in this galaxy and in many others.

Oh Dana! Along with beautiful art and history, you made me laugh. A perfect trifecta!

I know that a good horse will work to keep its rider balanced (correct me if I’m wrong here, Q4horse), but I guess it takes a Unicorn to actually accomplish a no-handed hop!

Love the big color format, just wish it was always that way…. Maybe with the premier of the newspaper release of the strip…?

Love that strip and saved it for printing out later. Wonderful facial expressions all around. My very fav? Marigold’s in the next to last panel, after she just demonstrated the hop.
