    Yeah, the physics is improbable. I kinda figure the artist drew the panels, and an editor familiar with the working of incline railways looked at it and said, “where’s the other car that goes down to balance Tarzan’s car going up?” At which point they decided it would be easier to invent some mumbo-jumbo about magnetism than to re-draw the panel…

    Or maybe Tarzan’s going to meet Nikola Tesla in tomorrow’s strip.

    Got to love the 1940’s, when this was drawn, the one advanced civilization we find in the jungle is populated by what appears to be caucasians definitely not Africans. Man this would never fly today.
