    Stalling wonā€™t help, Rick.(Itā€™s all legit as long as he signs the marriage license.)

    Notice how GBT gives ā€˜Bickā€™ the wide eyed innocent eyes of the younger characters (and Boopsie) rather than the narrower (cynical) eyes reserved for the adults.

    @Mike31g

    In the US, they are called ā€œdeer in the headlights.ā€ Has more to do with being in a state of shock than innocence.

    An ā€œaltered stateā€ that is common in these circumstances. Thirty years, and I still recall the hazeā€¦

    In a haze but a golden haze, with only 3 distinct recollections of the silent tableau vivant sort

    His response is not a ā€œyesā€. But I guess the Rev knew not to push it.

    Correct me if Iā€™m wrong, but isnā€™t this Rickā€™s first trip down the aisle? Joanie is the jaded, been-there-done-that one, but Rick has not been feted thus. He is simply stunned.And give the Rev credit. He knows a ā€œyesā€ when he hears it.

    I thought maybe Rick had a bad case of Attention Deficit Disorder (which he passed on to Jeff). I agree that his remark is equivalent to a ā€œyes.ā€ Thatā€™s probably the best he can come up with . . .

    Rick hasnā€™t been paying attention. Not to what is being said. But at least he noticed the being outside and all the people and how pretty Joanie looks.
