How could they tell? They eat stuff they buy at the Dollar Dump. If the 2 year old salami hasn’t made them sick by now…..5 day old potato salad wouldn’t either,I’d feel bad, except for the fact that they pull this scam about once a week.

Why does any store still let them in the door?

Most retail establishments have a sign somewhere on the premises proclaiming their right to refuse service to anyone.

I’d think seeing the Pennys on the sidewalk would cause any shop owner or manager in Crustwood to block the entrance and invoke that right, even if it’s never been called upon in all their 7 or 23 or 58 years of business.

2Old… I know it’s a joke…but I hate to be so harsh on the dollar stores…they’re not gourmet, but they serve a need for people who can’t afford much else…and they sometimes have great deals on national brands.True, some of the food is off-off-brand, or made outside the US… which is of concern to me, but not to some other people. But it IS is inspected for compliance with expiration dates and recalled items, just like in any other store.

Yes, the Pennys probably could afford better than dollar stores…we know they’re cheap and stingy.I just don’t want to paint everybody who shops in them with that brush….or feel queasy when I go there myself.

Of course they ate all of the potato salad. And they will yet again. It’s a win-win-win-win for them. They eat. They lose weight. They get paid for eating. They repeat.“Dollar stores” starts a thought thread. I volunteer occasionally at the local food bank. Who comes in? Stereotypical? Sure. But mostly folks with one or two jobs plus kids or old folks or some of our veterans, folks who don’t have enough to both eat and live indoors. Shameful. “When did we see You hungry?”

I suspect they wanted to make sure they did not forget the potato salad and bought it first thing, Then likely left it in the trunk of Burl’s black car, in the sun while they shopped at the Mall, went to the Insurance agent to check wart coverage, went to Dr., then a visit at Dale and Marge’s to make sure they were not doing something with out them. Then 6 hours later home for dinner.
