The question about the money confirms what I’ve said this entire time. All of you going “She’s 18 her parents can’t tell her what to do” are wrong.

Luann is not helping her cause by her scatterbrained dithering….

Luann has earned money working. While it should go to her college expenses, she has enough to fly to New York and back and to stay at a youth hostel.

Odd how the first few questions Lu asks are the ones Bernice asked a couple of days ago. Indicating she thinks B is right, and then asks nonsense questions to forget about it.

I love the expression on Dez’s face… like… “huh??” She initially characterized Luann’s energies as a “vague splattery jumble of contradictions”. Now she sees evidence of that. I look forward to seeing what happens next.

I thought Luann couldn’t get any shallower. I was wrong. In fact, she’s the most boring character in the strip—and it’s her strip.

I don’t know, I still go back to Luann jumping on Tiffany for using the phone at the day care and the minute she walks off Luann whips out hers. There’s been plenty of times away from Bernice Luann has shown herself to be self centered and rude.

Gotta love how Bernice loosely goes along with everything, sitting at the table with the other two for the card reading and such. But you know she is really there mostly to watch the train wreck, and to throw in just enough commentary to add up to a gentle “I told you so” in the end.

Furiously taking notes here… it’s obvious Greg Evan needs to be schooled in this business. Scribble Scribble Scribble.

Finally, Luann is asking herself the questions that Bernice was trying to get her to think about. Good for Dez to accomplish this without Luann feeling criticized. Maybe Dez would be a good counselor.

Some of you have said before that Luann is a lot like Tiffany in that she’s shallow, selfish, and immature—and you’re all right.

You realized that the trip with Quill is not so feasible after all once you were asked to make request for the game questions. And why do you have “to tell your parents?” You are 18. You don’t need their permission. Unless you are still clueless about that? Yep, if you borrow their money for the trip, they are entitled to ask you questions about why you need the money. So, get a job so they can’t ask you questions on how you spend your money.

This little girl needs to grow up, get serious, and cut the umbilical cord. Try as he might, Greg just can’t move these kids out of a high school mode. With the exception of the Gunther-Rosa aborted romance, this strip has been flopping around without direction for the last year.

Luann’s list of questions makes it clear that even though se didn’t like what Bernice had to say… she was listening! As to Luann’s “shallow” questions… give her a break! She’s 18 and anticipating a special event. I remember being that age and looking forward to some event, and “what to wear” being the first thing that came to mind. I think I turned out fairly well in spite of having started out so shallow. ;) Besides, somebody has to provide the yuks, and today it was Luann.

Dez you should know better… Never, never ask a blond an open ended question.

Congrats Lu, you finally got Dez to stop smiling.

How can you find an answer when you don’t know what the question is?

Luann is guileless. That is why she is beloved.
