I can't believe how violent these old cartoons are! A cat and mouse viciously attacking each other! A coyote trying to blow up a road runner! Sailor who beats up people! No wonder kids back then could only watch them once a week on Saturdays
Maybe because we were actually outside playing and exercising instead of sitting in front of our phones and tv’s getting fat and not being hovered by parents who did not trust us on our own.

on a news story, the reporter said 17 acts of violence was counted in one tom and jerry cartoon. and it’s only 7 minutes long

Most people my age (57) watched all of those cartoons and never hurt or killed anyone.

It was certainly something to look forward to. I can’t say that about today’s cartoons.
