B5!!! no.. wait… FIREFLY!!! yes. Firefly. or is it B5? …. Last year at FanCon Vancouver – fellow geek & I got in the line for autographs from Bruce Boxleitner (sp). We chatted with him for about 15 minutes before anyone else arrived in the line behind us. … and yes…. we both giggled.Now…. if we could get Nathan Fillion……
The Firefly DVD has all 14 episodes, not just the 11 that aired. Stupid network killed it by moving it all around the schedule and we could never find it.
I am aware that both series exist, but didn’t follow any (though I saw ‘Serenity’, and I liked it). By the way, does anyone remember/ saw/ knew a series called ‘Lexx’ (first season only, next two are kinda lousy)?
B5, couldn’t warm up to Firefly. And while I’m on the subject, didn’t think “Blade Runner” or the modern “Battlestar Galactica” were any great shakes, either. Loved SG-1, liked Atlantis, meh Universe.
Help Roy decide – why? there will always be tomorrows indecision. The point is to get Sue out of he office on a date and go see something she likes away from the maddening crowd.
More to miss with Babylon 5, obviously, but Firefly was less stationary (ahem) in the grand scheme of space operas (what with all the flitting about). Both had great actors and excellent premises, but Firefly had Summer Glau and Gina Torres, which tips the scale for this old dude . . . .Nathan Fillion vs Bruce Boxleitner on the next Celebrity Death Match!
With B5 we can get the whole series, the complete story. With Firefly I miss what I had it hoped it would become. I like the relationship between the characters better in Firefly.
yes is in part s German production, your point is..? The thing is, as you mention thanks to the magic of the internet some people may get to know about the series and decide by themselves if they find interest in it. For one thing, eva habermann was a hottie by then (the series has a few years now), and the idea of running away inside s bug that destroys and eats planets while being followed by a giant brain may be interesting for some people

Babylon 5 had a good run. Firefly, on the other hand, was robbed. Buttt…..it did get a theatrical movie…

Firefly.
Babylon5 was a fixed Beginning-Middle-End story arch.
Firefly was just starting to spread its wings and become truly awesome, a series that would spark generations of future possibilities.
I miss Firefly.

Firefly. The one thing the Firefly taught me, was, always have grenades ready.

Farscape was too short lived as well. Another cancellation tragedy.

But then, I also miss Red Dwarf…
