I moved overseas before I had saved enough for the items I was interested in. I hung onto the books and kept on collecting whenever I made trips State-side (as long as they still had them), but they quit using them before I got enough.
Actually, the S&H Green Stamps people now call themselves Greenpoints and allow the conversion of old Green Stamps books from the past into Greenpoints (minimum 26 full books). Logically enough, their website is www.greenpoints.com.
I still have a blue chip stamp catalog. That’s what we collected. We got a card table and chairs that are still in good shape. I did recover the chairs a few years back.
We still have a folding card table purchased with green stamps. There were also coupons you could cut off and redeem from Betty Crocker and General Mills packages. I bought a whole set of stainless flatware by collecting those.
The contest was building a house of cards, the one who knocked over the house lost (either Marcia or Jan had a charm bracelet that almost or did knock it over). According to this site: http://www.tvrage.com/the-brady-bunch/episodes/178791 the boys lost & the girls decided on something for the whole family – of course.
And remember when you bought gasoline at the gas startion, and you could collect Anchor Hocking glass sets, Corningware dishes, cutlery sets? Oh yes, THOSE WERE THE DAYS!

A Fortune, in the 1960’s! What a shame they don’t increase their value with age.

I equipped my first kitchen (early 1970s!) with S&H Green Stamp stuff. And I still have quite a few of the items.

If you want to see how successful the stamp collecting business can be, stay at a Radisson Hotel some time…

At first I read “I must have at least 35 or 40 BUCKS in here.” I thought, “Shouldn’t that pile be a lot smaller??”

I still have a few stamps. My son accidentally broke a glass tonight. He was sad, because I had gotten it with green stamps!
