Just because I’m in a bad mood doesn’t mean I’m quiet.

Ideally, no.Mostly it is just noise.The fact that some may actually have an idea means I have to apply myself to understanding, which is mostly wasted effort, much like alluvial gold mining at a depth of ten or more feet, yielding very limited reward for effort expended.

Exactly. I’m not one to prattle on endlessly.

If you can quiet your mind, you can hear the world.

But you cannot, then, un-hear it.

When I don’t have anything to say, I try not to prove it.

There’s a great word for that: ultracrepidarian.
