Caulfield: I need a tattoo.
Frazz: Really? Why?
Caulfield: Because you can't spell "attitude" without "tattooed".
Frazz: That is wrong and incorrect in a number of...
Caulfield: Imagine how impressively I'd be ignoring you if I were properly inked up.

Go for it, kid. You’re exercising the same amount of logic that many of people that I know with body art use.

I was going to get a tattoo that said “You can’t spell ATTITUDE without TATTOOED”, but I ran out of money and now it just says, “You can’t spel”.

I’ll take my scars over a tattoo. Scars are like tattoos….but with better stories.

I find it interesting that even though tats have become almost the definition of mainstream (it is now common to see doctors and lawyers and sales clerks and everyone in between sporting major ink), all the old tropes still play in the comics (and the comments). Kind of a shame, really—there is no longer anything special, dangerous or otherwise particularly interesting about tattooed people vs. the regular population.

Most of us don’t care what other people think about our tattoos. We’re not trying to impress or intimidate anyone.

When I say a tattoo, no matter how trashy or how impressive, they all say the same thing: “Property of Jake”.

The time is coming, very rapidly, when no one will be allowed in Walmart without tattoos. Here in West Texas, they even wear shorts and tank tops in February to make sure we don’t miss them.

Anyone can get a tattoo. It takes maturity and integrity NOT to get one.

I thought about getting a tattoo back in the ‘70s, when I was in my twenties. But I kept changing my mind about what I wanted.
That told me two things:
1) I would eventually regret not getting something else instead.2) If I didn’t know exactly what I wanted, I really didn’t want one.

My tats were part of the stereotypical “midlife crisis” at a certain milestone age. Instead of buying a high-priced high-horse-powered car, I got my Chinese astrology sign (雞) and the Dodgers logo. I’ve added two others, a dragon surrounding the 雞 and my high school mascot (as a football player). No regrets (except the tat on my leg is starting to get deformed due to a couple of wild varicose veins.)
