MARG! I went to the ER yesterday for my shingles
and they put me on Gabapentin and some Vicodin.
Iām already not having near as much pain since then.
Thanks for the info.
Llewellenbruce Iām so glad to hear that! Shingles pain is the worst thing Iāve experienced. The virus travels up the nerve pathways before it erupts into blisters.
Clark Kent, rabbits arenāt rodents. (I figure somebody always has to make that comment, so it might as well be me.)
Sisyphos, maybe this squirrel is a collaborator. Or maybe Broomie is a rodent sympathizer; sheās always been on pretty good terms with furry woodland crittersā¦
The Revolutionary struggle, alas, is not without schism. The two great, inspirational, historical figureheads, Mickey Mouse and Ignatz Mice, advocated very different approaches towards non-rodents. The Mickeyites enjoyed greater early success through less confrontational tactics; assimilation, slow-but-steady acceptance, āRodentism with a Smiling Faceā. But the Ignatzites complain that the Mickeyites are sell-outs, and itās true that Mickeyās worldwide popularity never developed into widespread gains for the mouse-on-the-street (or āin-the-wallā). Ignatzites endorse open revolt, domination āby any means necessaryā. Most cartoon squirrels of late, certainly, seem to be following Ignatzās famed example, although they tend to throw nothing more destructive than acorns (rather than Ignatzās iconic brick).
(Ignatzism perhaps reached its apotheosis with bomb-wielding extremists like Jerry Mouse and Itchy Mouse, and indeed for generations the collective term ācartoon miceā has been inseparable from high explosives, despite the most famous ācartoon mouseā of all being known for his bourgois inoffensiveness. But their efforts have almost exclusively been directed against cats rather than towards society at large.)
Hey, thatās a good idea! Then all thatās still needed is something to clean up the smoke smell.

UncaAlby, perhaps you should eat outā¦or order in.
Everybody eats out on Motherās Day. The restaurants are generally packed. What weāll usually do is celebrate Motherās Day on a near-by week-day, when things are less busy.
Problem is, Mom says she wants Dad to cook.
And you know how it goes ā if Momma aināt happy, aināt nobody happy! So, Dad will do his best to cook without destroying the kitchen or poisoning anybody.
Waddya know! A helpful squirrel! Or is he an agent in deep cover for the Rodent Revolution?
Youāll notice that he did get to practice bonking someone with a thrown nutāI think he is in deep cover, a sleeperā¦or should that be a waker-uper?
You canāt say ādogs and cats have been overdoneā any more than you can say ākid strips have been overdoneā or āfamily stripsā or āworkplace stripsā or anything else. Pets are fixtures in lots of peopleās lives, and there are as many different ātakesā on them as there are cartoonists. Certainly, you can never have too many dogs for my liking, but they can be done well or done poorly, and āDog Eat Dougā, āPooch Cafeā and even āStone Soupā all have delightful little dogs that are different from any cartoon dogs from the past. As far as cats go, well, Iād shed no tears if Garfield or Heathcliff were erased from the books, but I like Peekaboo in āRose is Roseā, Mooch in āMuttsā (although the strip hasnāt lived up to its early promise), and Ludwig in āArlo ānā Janisā.
