I remember watching the routine on TV as a kid in the 70’s. It’s a classic. Just look at how many people have done covers of it. Even today if you say to a twenty-something “Who’s on first?” and they know where it’s going. This, even though it was done even before I was born.

Animaniacs had a clever twist on the routine, involving the names of rock bands – Who, Yes, etc.

The Credibility Gap [Harry Shearer et al.] did an homage with rock band names in the early 70s

This is the best tribute to “Who’s on first?” I’ve ever seen! Most of them are lame ripoffs, but this one actually takes it and does something new with it.
