Haha! Still flapping those wings. Time to turn the autopilot off, mom.

She might want to read Heart of the City this week before being pushed in a shopping cart.

By the time the parade starts, Alice will be too pooped to wave her hand at the crowd,

Our youngest daughter is very petite. When she was about eight, the two older girls decided to push her around in a baby carriage. They lost the carriage on a hill, and she went careening down, rocking from side to side, and then the carriage folded up with her inside. We were all laughing too hard to move. However, SHE was not amused.

Sorry, I was distracted wondering just what Mom’s slicing.

Looks like baloney for sandwiches.
More important, once Mom find’s out what Ailce is hollering about, I bet she’s going to quash the idea. I DO fervently hope that Alice and Dill get to have their adventure on the shopping carts!

Think fast, Madeline!I like the cut-off speech balloon in panel 4, suggesting the rapid whirlwind of wound-up Alice flying through the house to secure permission for that dangerous cart ride. Does Dill’s brother have plenty of Liability Insurance?

I believe it is about to rain on Alice’s parade.

Seems as though by this time, Alice’s parents would be used enough to Alice and Dill’s shenanigans that they could figure out right away what she was saying.
