The Born Loser by Art & Chip Sansom WIlberforce: I wish you could go bike riding with me, Mom! Why don't you have a bike like everyone else? Gladys: I don't own a bicycle because, believe it or not, I never learned how to ride one! Wilberforce: No way! Seriously? Gladys: Yes, it's true. Maybe I should learn now - what do you think? Wilberforce: It's too late! You have to learn when you're a kid. You don't want to learn when you're grown up! Gladys: Why is that? Wilberforce: Because you have so much farther to fall from your bike!

Makes sense to me. Plus, you wouldn’t want to break a hip.

True, you have farther to fall, but you also have more built-in padding! :)

It’s really Not the Distance, it’s Mass and Weight that is the Problem!

My mother told me she never had a bicycle or learned how to ride one. But she did have a horse and rode it everywhere. She grew up on a ranch in South Dakota.

Adults also have better motor control than kids usually do when they’re learning to ride a bike, so I thinkk an adult could learn to ride if they wanted to, but most of them would rather drive.

Adult bones are more breakable too.
