âDoesnât matter whether I agree with you or not, youâre okay on Free Speech grounds. We may have some issues with the fire safety code, though.â
If you donât tolerate my intolerance, then youâre intolerant. Of course, âtoleranceâ itself is gradually being phased out because you got idiots who said things like, âIf youâre tolerant, then you have to tolerate my robbery, my wife beating, my drunk driving ⊠Otherwise, youâre not tolerant.â What they really mean is equal treatment of people and no discrimination against people for who they are, not for the anti-social activities they choose to take part in.
I heard the KKK gave $ to Ron Paulâs campaign and people demanded he give it back â his response was something like â âlet me get this straight â you want me to give money to the KKK?â. That is classic!
This trope has been used successfully in other areas as well. Calvin Grondahl is a gifted cartoonist raised in the Mormon faith who had a supreme gift for pillorying the foibles of his ancestral religion. On of my favorites:
Who would recognize a âLeft Groupâ you are implying is equivalent to the Klan? I noticed you did not have one forth coming. But then nothing like the Klan on the Left every existed.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~I canât argue with you or disagree with you. because I have no idea what youâre saying.
The lynchpin of tolerance is stopping the lynching. (literal of figurative)
How often missed that radicals so often wear hoods, to hide their cowardice, either physical or intellectual. Power to observe reality would destroy the hatred focused by the headgear.
Except by all those people they Terrorized and Murdered. But they didnât get to to write their opinions down. That was one of the things they got Murdered for.Or, in many cases, just for Learning HOW to Write.
Tolerance for their existence is fine. They can and should have the same rights as everyone else. That does not mean we have to condone their beliefs or agree with them. But we canât treat them differently under the law because we disagree with them. Will be a great day when Christians in the U.S. realize this.
Dr. JâŠ.Just didnât have anything useful to sayâŠThat being said..Now I can point out that tolerance never includes violenceâŠSome things canât be toleratedâŠ
Thereâs a misconception that tolerance must tolerate intolerance. Itâs a guilt weapon bigots use. I have no qualms being intolerant towards bigots. If you choose to be exclusive, you should have no expectation of being included.
Well, I would say round up all the slave owners and the racist terrorists who lynched or otherwise brought ârough justiceâ to others and give them a fair trial prior to their execution, but they have all already been dead for quite some time. Would you like a bottle of water and a map to their graves so you can express yourself in a more fluid fashion upon their remains?
Ah, nostalgia! Wiley did a similar cartoon 20 years ago (np950523.jpg), except the speech bubble was âYou want to handle this one, Miss Letâs-give-the-parade-a-name-that-will-make-everyone-feel-welcomeâŠ?â.

Youâre not allowed in the parade if youâre going to assault random parade participants. Remember, itâs consenting adults only.

Why a Klansman? Why not someone from the Left? Theyâre the ones screaming âintoleranceâ the mostâŠand theyâre the least tolerant.

Tolerance does not and should not extend to people hurting other people.

Courtesy to an intolerant? Well, good luck. Then it could just be some guy who cannot afford clothes or the robe disguises his NRA ikon.
