This reminded me of John Cleese in Monty Python and the Holy Grail, saying “She turned me into a newt!”, whereupon everyone else in the scene turns to stare at him.

Don’t trust anyone over 30. Or under 30. Or 30.

When I was 20, I swore I wouldn’t look like some of the old guys I’ve seen in the locker room. I’m closing in on 40 now, and I swear I will not look like some of the guys I see at the all-you-can-eat buffet. Got to keep that bar reachable.

I sort of did that. I started riding shortly before I turned 41 and lost a lot of weight. Hasn’t stopped the greying, though. The glasses I’ve had since I was 7.

There is no day when when you begin to feel old. You just wake up one morning and there it is.

If I don’t feel ‘old’ or ‘ancient’ then why can’t I do the same things I did as a teenager? Eat what I want, run for miles
 oh wait
. never did run for miles as a teenager. OK. Walk for miles.
