I saw some free range children at the park today. I had to fight the urge to abduct one of them just to teach the parents a lesson. :-)

The only real hazards we had growing up was that the farmer might decide to harvest his wheat while we were still playing in it.
And the perennial “failing to respond to Moms before they had called us for the third time”. No charms there for a third time on the action.

When I was a kid (half a century ago) I never would have guessed that “free range” children would become a rare sight that triggered phone calls to the police, especially in America.
