Ah, well, at least Brad and Toni are about to set a date.

Perhaps they used the crowd of mice in the one corner to illustrate how a human crowd would look, there… – Looks like that party wasn’t cleaned up, from the time Quill’s group performed there… – I guess it’s a case of “You’re gonna like the way it looks….they guarantee it”…. – But they still didn’t manage to tell them about who “one of the backers” is, for this….

As soon as they bought that old wharehouse I immediately thought it would be a possible wedding venue for them. Huh.

Where is TJ?Isn’t he central to all this? .Moreover, they put on one play here, where was that stage?.Do they have to start over, rethinking it all?

Who is ‘Michael Terry’ and why is his company name on the warehouse?
doverdan about 9 years ago
Is that a structural crack showing on the face of the building?.If so, there will be BIG trouble.Don’t forget earthquake regulations..Also it’s kinda messy around there. They will need Rosa to pick up the sticks..Is this in a bad part of town? How about parking?

That’s the wedding reception, NOT the wedding..It will take 13 months to decide on where the wedding will be.

I can see lots and lots of story arcs spinning off of this one branch.

oo! Thought! I bet Luann’s knack for set design will come in handy for this—and then she inherits it. Thus ends dilemmas about the future.

‘Michael Terry’ is the ghost who inhabits the building after dark.

Deserted area? Lot of weeds about. .This may be in the field we discovered on Prom night.

“Wedding Reception??”
Wait, Wait, WAIT! You Mean the “Wedding” Is STILL On?You, You, You, Mean We’re NOT Going to be Treated to the Traditional, “Bride/Groom Gets Cold Feet and Wants to Cancel the Wedding at the last minute,” Storyline???
Saints PRESERVE US!
This is TOO Much. Oh Waitress? COFFEE Over HERE, Please!
Oh, and Frank? You DO Realize that YOU are about to be SUCKERED into Paying for THIS Entire Wedding, Right?
doverdan about 9 years ago
Why would the stage be jammed into a corner? That seems hard to imagine. Weird. There would be no wings, at all . .To ‘exit stage left,’ you’d have to go through a brick wall..The bistro could be in a corner, but not a theater.

A slam-dunk for Toni

argythree said, @LDoverThe mess around the place is the least of their worries. -—————————————————-But it seems in a dilapidated part of some town. More of a ghost-town. Is it in Pitts? How near is it to Mooney U.?. Remember that when they did that play, none of the dorm rats showed up..Remember: Location! Location! Location!

Most likely cost millions of $$$$$$$$$$ to bring that dump up to code. Any one want to bet there will be a fire at this place too? Don’t forget who one of the investors is going to be.
corpcasselbury about 9 years ago
One thing I keep wondering is why Toni and Brad don’t just get married at the fire station by the fire department chaplain. Seems to me that would take care of matters quickly and easily.
Simon_Jester about 9 years ago
Reminds me of the Old Mill district restoration in Bend Oregon. ( A project that’s been a runaway success, BTW. Frank may be onto something after all. )
TORAD_07 about 9 years ago
Well, now, some progress! I just hope this doesn’t involve any of the forecasted “drama and trauma.”

4Sadly, we are still working on Frank’s foolish Warehouse idea. I was sincerely hoping that we would have stopped this arc for a few weeks. Brad and Toni seem ready to mooch their way into having the Warehouse be where their reception is…. after SIGNIFICANT (costly) renovation of course. I am a bit worried about the significant debris around the outer perimeter of the warehouse. It has a look about it (not just the building, but the vicinity) that suggests it may be in a “seedier” part of town. While that could work for a potential “art space” and “community theater” where such venues are often located due to affordability, it does not seem to be a strong location for the “receptions” aspect of the business… and let’s face it… of the three aspects of the business… the “receptions” aspect is the one of the three types of venue that has the most potential to keep the business financially afloat. Therefore, being in a seedy part of town (presumably), the “receptions” portion of the business may end up being too small to keep Frank (and TJ) from losing their shirts in this deal.

Thought so – building this arc up to the place to be the wedding venue.

Aye.
reedkomicks Premium Member about 9 years ago
If there is a parking lot behind the building, there is no need to worry about the part of town it is in. I speak as a former resident of NYC. In the 80’s things were quite seedy in the lower east side and east village. However, there were very hot spots there, which were well attended.

I predict that the Wedding Arc, at least the ones leading up to the actual Wedding may well be the most commented on in comic world history!

I’ve seen the “stage in the corner” thing before. But that was a puppet “little theater” in a theater-restaurant-coffeehouse, that also sometimes used the stage for local folk musician performances….But the Really Big News is that Toni is talking about the wedding!

And if it doesn’t work out, they can burn the place down and collect the insurance.

“Let’s see, uh… Stage over there. Stairs there and thereand back there. Kid, can you imagine it?”“Imagine what?”“A bandstand right over there in that corner. And a big band, like in the ’40s.”“No. Bandstands went out with running boards. Over there…A great rock’n’roll band. This is the ’80s.”
