I thought the movies were sequels because Hollywood can’t come up with any new ideas.

Actually the book is “The Art of Goofing Off”.

We have squeals because Hollywood can’t make anything original good, at least some sequels are good.

I always used to look forward to endless reading in the summer. That’s why I used to volunteer to sit and watch the waterbath canner. Sure I was stuck in a hot, steamy kitchen with no AC, but I could read between batches—and I wasn’t out in the hot humid Midwestern sun, picking veggies.

Has anybody noticed how Hobbes can just ignore our little buddy? Flies, what flies?

You can tell the strip is 20 years old. What school gets a three month summer break any more?

Mom should have checked out a Calvin and Hobbes book for him.

Sheesh, Calvin – where did you think the TV and movie producers got THEIR ideas from? (At least the originals, before the sequels and re-runs…)

Clearly the book is not Hamster Huey.

Now, now, let’s not bee too hard on the movie industry. In the past 20 years, they got creative. Now they also have “prequels.”

But Calvin, what about sitting under a tree with a pile of brand new comic books? (Or even old ones, for that matter.)

Calvin you are right about reruns. Actors take the summer off and do as you have fun and play. Book reading is when you want some quiet time and you are not quiet but active boy.

Movie producers will keep re-booting their franchises until the audiences decide to give ’em the boot…….

Glad to see Hobbes (the voice of reason) is back

But Calvin, if the book is “Tom Sawyer”, you might find a new imaginary friend.*And if it’s “The Jungle Book”, Hobbes might do the same. Summer is a great time for hanging out with new friends.

Unlike Calvin, I love to read.

I mostly read fictional and humour stories. A favourite book of mine is “Of Mice and Men” I read that in school and loved it.

Saw the 2 movies as well.
