Sadly, black cats are very difficult to rehome. The power of superstition. Consequently, we inherited my late mother-in-law’s black cat. He adored my wife. It worked out well for him.
I must confess I had to re-read the first three panes before I looked at the fourth panel as I couldn’t quite believe my eyes, the fourth panel revealed why I confuzzled……..Well done Graham, a great strip today :-)
Poodle Boo woke me up at 3 AM, (she likes to sleep with us)By hacking a hairball onto my uncovered legs! Tossed her out of the bedroom, washed my legs off and went back to bed.She can scratch to come in tonight all she wants, but I’m gonna be gun shy for a few days.
As Woof (and Oliver) is the star of todays strip, I thought I would post a couple of pictures of the two black cats I had the honour of sharing my life with. When I was younger we also had a black cat named Minnie, but I don’t have any digital photos of her (must dig out the photos and scan them)...Anyhoo, here is the one-eyed Poppy, a real sweetie and prolific hunter!......And here is the ‘Incredibly Handsome’ Mr Robson, my former Alpha Male and incredible Purrsonality :-)......As you can see, Robson honours me by being my Avatar :-)
Good morning animal loving fans.————A special prayer request: my son’s F.I.L. was taken to the hospital early this morning. He is in ICU on a respirator. Sending best thoughts for your son’s FIL, Starman.Lovely black cat pics today!Sooo… does this mean Woof is a talker now, or is this just Oliver’s wishful thinking?
@SallyLin: thank you my friend.-————-@Rikkie Tavi: thanks for posting. The comments are not complete unless you post a cat photo.-————-Be happy and healthy my friends.
This is Misty. When Brad put out the scarecrow, Easter Bunny or Santa Claus, she would sit there and talk to them. We would hear her meowing some sort of conversation. Sadly, we lost her due to tumor on her spine that erupted. She was truly Brad’s baby girl. She was one of the kittens born under my work trailer years ago when Brad was in the Navy and stationed at Pt Mugu. I called to tell him I took him another kitten and he never said a word. When he came home 2 weeks later, the first thing he said when he walked in the door was “Where’s my little Misty?” – so Misty it was. She also like to sit on my piles of sewing as the quality control inspector.
My sweetest cat ever was Max, a long hair black kitty. Only problem was I could never get a good picture of him. I really envy today’s beautiful pictures of black cats.
I have shared my life with several black cats, all of them gorgeous and sweet. Lindas cats that I inherited are my first purebreds, and full of Siamese love, and pride. I just love cats!
I got another foster baby this morning. A woman rescued 2 siblings from a disgusting house this morning. The owner was not feeding them (or the mom) or putting water out. She told the woman who brought me the kitten to “just take them”. The lady kept the boy but said the girl was wild.
Wrong. I have been carrying her around the house. Now she is with the other boys. She is getting fixed on Wed.
So I went for a few groceries today and between the grocery store and the drugstore is the pet supply store. They have a couple of cages where they show cats & kittens to adopt through Furry Friends and they had the MOST adorable orange and white 12-week old male cats. I almost cried.
I love all the pictures on this strip. I must confess, I do “borrow” some of them to share on Facebook. So many of the black cats today remind me of the multitude of black cats who have honored me with their presence in my home.
I love the pictures of the black cats. Our youngest one is all black except for a small white patch in his under pant area. When he lies on his back he looks like his flies are undone. He has the sweetest nature he makes us laugh every day. We feel so lucky to have him.
I JUST REALIZED WHY I MYSELF DON’T POST MANY PHOTOS HERE ANYMORE! TOO MANY WONDERFUL COMMENTS TO READ, OTHER PICTURES TO VIEW, SHARING AND CARING, GEE I LOVE THIS PLACE!
We have a black cat named Molly, she is going on 8 now. We got her from ROFF (Rescue Our Furry Friends). The people who had her previously decided in one of our SNOWIEST AND COLDEST JANUARY’s when she was about a year old and pregnant, that they now wanted a dog. They told ROFF they would put her out in the snow to fend for HERSELF if they didn’t take her! I HOPE THEY NEVER GOT THAT DOG! THAT POOR DOG WHOEVER IT MIGHT HAVE BEEN CERTAINLY WOULD DESERVE BETTER!
Anyway, she had her litter, the kittens were posted on their website in a little basket all cute and perky and ALL BLACK, all 3 of them. I wish I knew at that time how to save pictures like that. Anyway, MOLLY is the sweetest, most loving cat. She is just a SWEETHEART!
I know I forgot a few folks here, but it is late, and I have already “talked” enough. So goodnight all! And as STARMAN would say, have a peaceful nights, my friends!
I wish I had time tonight to upload pictures of my black sister cats, but they have been meowing for me to go to bed for an hour! I guess I am up later than they are used too, lol
Starman, will keep your son’s FIL in prayer. My Sheba is an awesome black cat. She plays fetch, knows what the words “ice cream and treat time” mean. She even comes when called. I have a black feral cat that comes to eat at my outdoor kitty café. I don’t know if it’s a Midnight Louie or a Midnight Louise, but it will sit and wait for me to put out food and run the minute I open the door to do so. But it comes back after it hears the door shut again, signaling that I have left the food and went back in the house. If it’s not there, I just open the door and yell Black kitty Black kitty! and it comes. The neighbors must think I’m crazy but I don’t care, It works for us. >^..^<
@Rose Rabbit: Let your neighbors think what they will. You are doing a good deed by feeding the feral cat. In time it may become tame. The world needs more animal lovers. Be well my friend.
I’ve had 3 black cats. Gink, Meanie, and Schnotty. Lovely kitties, but I LOVE the orange ones with stripey pants!! But I love all of them with or without stripes, solid colors, calico whatever. Love the kitties!
